My dreams are coming true!

When I was younger, I remember my very first exposure to Anime coming from a little vhs tape my friend lent me. What could this tape have contained that would have then led me to want to seek everything and anything Anime? Well that my friends was Bubblegum Crisis. The 8 episode OVA was everything my young mind had wanted at the time, great music, hot babes in battle suits, and of course eye pleasing action. And now it seems news has come out that Bubblegum Crisis is going to be made into a live action movie. I must say, it is indeed a Happy Birthday to me as the news comes literally on my bday’s coattails.

The Hollywood Reporter is indeed reporting that “Producers from six countries signed off Thursday in Cannes on an accord to make the $30 million English-language picture, which is set for delivery in early 2012… The contract will make use of the Singapore-Australia, Australia-Canada, Canada-Singapore, China-Australia and China-Canada… [&] Principal photography will be carried out in Australia, with postproduction in Canada by Mokko Studio. Director and cast have yet to be decided. The spokesman said that “Crisis” will feature two male leads and a quartet of female action babes — two Caucasian and two Asian.”
