Just like the title says, it seems a live action Jin-Roh is in the works. I personally loved the 1999 feature film, and see a lot of potential for the live action. The news comes from Production I.G’s Anime Expo panel questioning that took place this past Sunday. Vice-President Maki Terashima-Furuta acknowledged that “somebody has the live-action rights, and somebody was planning to make a live-action Jin-Roh, but at the moment, I have no comment.”
Jin-Roh is the second adaptation of Mamoru Oshii’s Kerberos saga manga, Ken-Roh Densetsu. The first film adaptation was StrayDog: Kerberos Panzer Cops, released in Japanese theaters in 1991. The story of Jin-Roh revolves around the Tokyo of an alternate past. In this alternate reality, Japan loses the Second World War to Nazi Germany. Original source: ANN.
