Now, I find the premise to Surrogates very intriguing. If you have not kept up and heard of this movie before, it poses an interesting idea. Not a completely new idea, but a decent idea. Imagine a world where you did not go out and do things as yourself, rather you controlled a robotic, more perfect version of yourself, to go out into the world instead. You wouldn’t ever show your real age, nor have the possibility of getting hurt. Of course no world if perfect, and when something happens and users actually start dying while connected to their “better” versions, go old Bruce Willis must save the day.

Surrogates stars Bruce Willis, Radha Mitchell, Rosamund Pike, Boris Kodjoe, James Francis Ginty, Michael Cudlitz, James Cromwell, and Ving Rhames. It hits theaters this September 25. It is based on the 5 issue comic series of the same name. The original comic book’s plot is set in the year 2054 where people are using surrogates (humanoid remote control vehicles) to interact with each other, but someone is determined to return people to their old lives instead of living through proxies. The story begins with detective Harvey Greer investigating the destruction of two surrogates.
