Studio Ghibli will release a new animated feature titled, Karigurashi no Arrietty (The Borrower Arrietty), an adaptation of Mary Norton’s Carnegie Medal winning novel The Borrowers. The Borrowers is a fantasy novel about tiny people who “borrow” things from humans while keeping their existence hidden.
The biggest changes made by Studio Ghibli will have their version changing location to Tokyo Koganei in 2010 (Koganei is where Studio Ghibli is located) and tell the story of 14-year-old little Arrietty (Chiisana Arriety was the films original title). You can visit the website here and more info here.
Karigurashi no Arrietty is scheduled to be released the summer of 2010 and will have a length of about 80 minutes.
