In a recent interview with Danny Trejo, MovieWeb was able to get some dirt on the upcoming gutfest Machete. We first got a taste for Machete from a fake trailer Rodriguez directed for the 2007 film Grindhouse. The film stars the title character Machete, a renegade former “Mexican Federale,” who roams the streets of Texas after a shakedown from a drug lord called Torrez.
Danny states:
“Everybody either asks me when Machete is coming out or if it is done? It’s coming out in April…”
“I think everybody’s going to walk away from that movie with some opinion. It’s a battle for our border, you know? People are really serious about what’s going on with the border, and it shows the negatives of both sides. Not just, you know, we want everybody to cross, or we don’t want anybody to cross. It shows the negative of both sides and everybody’s going to be pissed off…”
“We want Machete, Machete Kills, and Machete Kills Again.”
Keep an eye out for it this coming April, 2010. Machete is directed by Robert Rodriguez and stars Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Lindsay Lohan, Cheech Marin, Jessica Alba, Rose McGowan, Robert De Niro, Steven Segal, Jeff Fahey, Don Johnson and Tom Savini.
