The folks over at AICN certainly feel confident, from one of their sources, that Sam Raimi’s next project will in fact be World of Warcraft. The biggest clue comes from word that “the phone lines were burning between a certain legendary locale and Raimi’s folks about firing up the furnaces to forge the weapons of war.” So… Legendary Pictures is currently behind the World of Warcraft movie project, which of course is all about war. With the fan base WOW has, this would be huge, as well as the world visually stunning on the heels of Avatar.

Word from AICN says yes, or at least that he is the front runner for the role! Although it is still classified as a rumor, they are saying that it is a very reliable rumor. Oh, and they do go on to say that Superman is set to make a cameo in the film. Talk about wow! If you remember, it was long ago that it was announced that Ryan Reynolds would in fact be the Green Lantern. Talk about definitely some great casting in my opinion! Some very exciting news indeed.

Talk about Jackie Earle Haley having a hell of a year. I venture to say he is the comeback kid of the decade is his roles of Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street reboot and now possibly Sinestro are pulled off beautifully.

In other related news, THR reports that filming will no longer take place in Australia due to the falling dollar. Sources from Warner Bros. are currently looking towards Mexico or Canada. The film is currently set for a summer 2011 release.

AICN has just got the scoop on the latest Rambo flick, and would you believe it came straight from Sly’s mouth! Good Ole’ Harry over at AICN woke up to what had to be the most surprising yet most awesome voicemail ever. If you don’t believe me, he has the audio clip to prove it. Anyways… back to the Rambo V scoop. About a week ago, I was given news that the next Rambo will feature Rambo fighting in Mexico, possibly against the drug cartels that are currently causing all kinds of havoc in the region in real life. Well, it seems that Rambo is going to get all Predator on our butts. See the quick synopsis below:

If you remember how Rambo IV ended, we found John Rambo returning home. Well, in keeping with that scenario, the film will be set in the Pacific Northwest. So, I guess there seems to be a military base in the surrounding area experimenting with creating the perfect killer, a primeval beast that is a instinctual killer. Sly calls it a “primitive self… which has a lot more cunning and power than you could have ever imagined.” Of course it becomes impossible to contain, and good ole’ John Rambo and a squad of Black Ops are sent it to ‘hunt’.

Oh yeah, definitely a Predator/Cat & Mouse feel, and I love it! Oh before I forget, I guess I should mention that Sly has a one sheet ready for the Toronto Film Festival. Check it out in all its glory below…
