The trailer for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, the film based on the 2003 video game of the same name, is now online. Now, personally I can’t stand Jake Gyllenhaal, but this movie will be a definite boost to his career. This rare PG-13 action blockbuster from Walt Disney has all the makings of pulling in the crowds next May 28, 2010. Check it out…

The basic plot follows Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal), a street urchin in 6th century Persia. After showing valor in battle, he is adopted by the king as his heir, so the king’s two sons will not fight over the throne. He teams up with Princess Tamina (Gemma Arterton) to rescue the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that controls time, from the hands of the villainous nobleman, Nizam (Ben Kingsley).

Movies.ie has just posted 2 of 3 new posters for the upcoming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time movie. The movie is an action-adventure film based on the popular video game franchise of the same name, created by Jordan Mechner, but features a story different than the original game. The first features Jake Gyllenhaal as Prince Dastan and the second features Gemma Arterton as Tamina. The third, coming soon, poster features Ben Kingsley as Nizam. The film is set for release on May 28, 2010.
