You read that right, is this the final season for Heroes? Well according to a well-placed Heroes source, “Everyone is expecting this to be the last season. The cast, the crew, everyone.” Word comes from E!Online’s Watch with Kristin column. I know the storyline has been struggling and not as great as when the series first started, but I guess we will really have to wait and see.

It seems Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group has acquired the rights to Blood: The Last Vampire. The live action film is set for theatrical release in Japan this May 29th, as well as in the UK this June 12th. Samuel Goldwyn Films is scheduling to release Blood: The Last Vampire in theaters this summer with an MPAA rating of R. Thanks to IGN for the heads up.

Last Blood is the official title, and this is no Sylvester Stallone. No Rambo, this is the Blood: The Last Vampire live-action flick. Are you excited yet? Well if you were in the United Kingdom, France, or Japan you would be since it opens there in May & June. As for the United States, well you will have to wait a little bit. The MovieWeb reports that Aasif Mandvi, Shaun Toub, Cliff Curtis and Keong Sim have just signed on alongside with Noah Ringer & Dev Patel for M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender. The Last Airbender is the anime inspired film adaptation of the Nickelodeon hit Avatar: The Last Airbender. This is the first film of scheduled trilogy.

If you are unfamiliar with Avatar: The Last Airbender, here is the synopsis thanks to Wikipedia: “Avatar: The Last Airbender takes place in a fantasy world that is home to humans, fantastic animals, and spirits. Human civilization is divided into four nations: the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Air Nomads, and the Fire Nation. Each nation has its own natural element, on which it bases its society. Within each nation exists an order called ‘Benders’ who have the ability to manipulate the eponymous element of their nation.”

The L Word

First, if you love Death Note & Death Note: The Last Name, the two live action movies spawned from the Death Note Manga & anime series, then you already have heard of the live action spinoff titled Death Note: L, change the worLd. If you have not, well now you do, and you are welcome. It seems the film has been partnered with the National CineMedia’s NCM Fathom Events, and is scheduled for a US threatical release on April 29 and 30. Here is a synopsis thanks to Wikipedia: “The film chronicles the final 23 days of L’s life, as he solves one final case involving a bio-terrorist group that aims to wipe out much of humanity with a virus with 100 times the virulence of Ebola, taking a boy he names Near, the sole survivor of its use in a village in Thailand, and a junior high schooler named Maki Nikaido under his wing.”

Out for Blood...

Second, if you have heard of Blood+ or Blood: The Last Vampire, then you already know that there is a a live action film titled Blood: The Last Vampire soon to be released.
